More and more visitors come to this
site and some may be frustrated not to find anything that they can read. Of
course it is possible to use a web translator and I know that some people did
this in order to read at least the welcome page.
Though, I thought that it would be
a good idea to start the English section eventually. First, a few words about
this site. You may wonder why on the one hand its name is Fouretou and, on the
other hand, why there is no pictures at all.
The word “fouretou” as such
doesn’t exist. It is an abbreviation, as it were, of the French word
“fourre-tout”, which is a holdall. You all know of course that you never
put anything into a holdall, but only all you want it to contain. It is
exactly the same for this site: a place where you can find useful tips, but
also entertaining things like stories, etc.
What's happening? It's midnight, you're longing for a good book but of
course all the libraries and bookshops are closed? Never mind. You'll go and
buy a brand new book tomorrow, but for the time being you can go to an online
library and find yourself a good "old" book. Links are to be found
on the
electronic libraries page.
It won't do? Then I have other hot tips for you thanks to some of my
friends, who have reading pages as well. More links will be added as I come
across them, but let me first advise you John
Mullen's Reading Page. You
will find excellent stuff there.
Others have reading pages? I'll gladly send visitors over to you (or at
least suggest that they might do so), so write
to me and let me know about the URL.
I usually write in French, but at times I also write in English. Here is a
short story. Or
perhaps you'd rather read a crazy Christmas
tale that I wrote to wish a merry Christmas to buddies on a mailing-list in
1997?
Thank you for visiting my site!
